Plant Biology Section

The regular shape of plots in that section (no VIII on the map) is characteristic of floral parterres of the 19th century. It harmonizes with the nearby section of ornamental plants. The aim of the collection is to show on selected examples how plants cope with their ‘everyday’ problems. The section describes how plants reproduce sexually and asexually and what is the role of wind and animals in the process of pollination. One can observe there different ways of flowers’ adaptation to pollination either by insects or by wind. Plants, the seeds and fruits of which travel far with the wind or on animals, have also been presented in the section. Furthermore, there are plants there which illustrate the ways of protection against being eaten.
