Plants of Different Habitats
The section presents plants that have adapted to grow in different, often extreme conditions. Sometimes those plants are so specialised that they cannot bear any changes in their habitats. Hence, they are often legally protected and included in the Polish Red Book of Plants. Special flower beds have been made for those members of our flora. The conditions created there are similar to their natural habitats. For aquatic and marsh plants special reservoirs have been built, while for mountain plants a rock garden was created particular parts of which differ in soil, humidity and sun exposure. Halophytes grow in soil characterised by high salinity. The collection includes also some coastal and inland dune plants as well as steppe species.
