Books in the collection cover the following topics:

• flora of different continents and countries – e.g., flora of Australia, Europe, China, Russia or Egypt; books on the flora of Poland make up a substantial part of the collection;
• monographs of selected genera or groups of plants;
• taxonomic keys for plant identification – both for our native and non-native flora;
• books on plant systematics and nomenclature;
• books on ecology and environmental protection,
• horticulture books – on plant cultivation and use,
• books on landscape architecture and history of gardening,
• books on the importance and use of plants in human life.

We also boast a collection of books, unique in Poland, which comprehensively describe the flora of Australia as well as some engaging literature on tropical and subtropical plants. These are a gift from Mr Zbigniew Wąsik, a graduate of the University of Warsaw and the Warsaw Uprising participant, who emigrated to Australia in 1949 and worked for years in the Geology Department at the Australian National University, Canberra.

Our book collection is available on site from 10:00 to 15:00, by prior appointment.
